Shutting Down a CE To shut down a CE: Step 1 2 3 Action Make sure that the other CE is active. From Endurance Manager issue the CEx Disable Operation command. Power off the CE if desired. Notes If the other CE is not active, shutting down the only active CE removes the Endurance server from service. A disabled element will not attempt to rejoin the server. Shutting Down the CE Operating System Before you shut down the CE operating system, consider the fact that this procedure removes your Endurance server from service. Make sure that you schedule an appropriate time and that you have completed any necessary backups before starting this procedure. To shut down the CE operating system, you can go to the system and shut it down using these steps: Step 1 2 Action Make sure that the keyboard and mouse are available at the CE. Shut down Windows. Notes If necessary, enter the hotkey sequence to switch control to the CE operating system. Be sure not to have Windows restart after you shut it down. Using the Endurance Manager, you can also shut down the CE operating system remotely. In that case, locally on a CE or IOP, or on a remote system, issue the CE OS Shutdown command to shut down the CE operating system. 9-8 HP Netserver AA Solution Administrator's Guide
