18. Slide the optical assembly to the right to disengage the shaft (callout 17). 19. Tilt the optical assembly up, slide it to the left to disengage the other end of the shaft, and then remove the it. Reinstall the ADF main assembly CAUTION: Ensure that the ferrite block remains installed on the ribbon cable. Provide adequate clearance around the ADF main assembly filter to ensure that it is not damaged. Prevent the ADF door from swinging open while installing it. ADF optical assembly 1. Remove the ADF main assembly. See ADF main assembly on page 176. 2. Disconnect the cable to the optical assembly (callout 1) and remove it from the cable guide.
