9. Rotate the optical unit (callout 8) clockwise for clearance to lift it out. Figure 6-68 Remove the flatbed optical unit (6 of 6) 8 Reinstall the flatbed optical unit CAUTION: Do not touch the scanner lamp. Fingerprints can cause the lamp to break. NOTE: Avoid touching the greasy rail. As you insert the shaft, support the left end of the optical unit until the left end screw is installed. Be sure that the keyed end of the shaft is aligned with the frame. NOTE: The entire flatbed optical unit is an FRU. Switch and solenoids ADF feeder cover detection switch 1. Open the ADF feeder. 2.
