MY BOOK WORLD EDITION USER MANUAL To configure system general setup settings: 1. Assign a device name for this storage device in the Device Name field. The device name can contain up to 15 characters, including alphabetic, numeric, and hyphens only. 2. Enter the brief description for this storage device in the Device Description field. The maximum length of the description must not be more than 256 alphanumeric characters. 3. For Web Access Protocol, select either of the following web access protocols: • Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) is a communications protocol for the transfer of information on the intranet and the World Wide Web. • Hypertext Transfer Protocol over Secure Socket Layer or HTTPS is a URL scheme used to indicate a secure HTTP connection. All traffic between the managing computer and the My Book World Edition is encrypted. It is syntactically identical to the http:// scheme normally used for accessing resources using HTTP. HTTPS provides a more secure means of configuring your device, but may affect the responsiveness of the user interface. 4. To set the date and time manually, deselect Enable next to NTP Service. 5. Select a time zone from the Time Zone list. 6. Adjust the date and time manually in the Date & Time lists. 7. Click the Submit button. Alerts Setup Using the Alerts Setup button on the System tab, you can configure e-mails or popup messages that provide alerts for system conditions, over temperature; hard drive, volume, network, and USB status; and user and group events. To configure system general setup settings:
1.
Assign a device name for this storage device in the
Device Name
field. The
device name can contain up to 15 characters, including alphabetic, numeric, and

Enter the brief description for this storage device in the Device Description field.

3.
For Web Access Protocol, select either of the following web access protocols:
