APPENDIX Symptom After the threads are automatically cut, the upper thread is too short and comes out of the needle. Probable Cause Lint or dust has accumulated around the needle plate (moving knife, fixed knife or thread retaining plate). The needle is not correctly installed. The needle set screw is loose. The needle is bent or blunt. The area around the hole in the needle plate is damaged. Remedy Remove any lint or dust around the needle plate. Correctly install the needle. Use the Allen screw driver to tighten the needle set screw. Replace the needle with a new one.
