System Security Screen Option System Password Setup Password Password Status (Unlocked default) Power Button (Enabled default) NMI Button (Disabled default) AC Power Recovery (Last default) Description Displays the current status of the password security feature and allows a new system password assignment and verification. NOTE: See Using the "Using the System Password" on page 67 for more information. Restricts access to the System Setup program by using a setup password. NOTE: See "Using the System Password" on page 67 for more information. When Setup Password is assigned and this field is Locked, the system password cannot be changed or disabled at system start-up. See "Using the System Password" on page 67 for more information. If Enabled, the power button can turn the system's power off and on. On an ACPI-compliant operating system, the system performs an orderly shutdown before power is turned off. When Disabled, the button can only turn on system power. CAUTION: Use the NMI button only if directed to do so by qualified support personnel or by the operating system's documentation. Pressing this button halts the operating system and displays a diagnostic screen. Enables or disables the NMI feature. Determines how the system reacts when power is restored. If set to Last, the system returns to the last power state. On turns on the system after power is restored. Off allows the system to remain off after power is restored. Using the System Setup Program and UEFI Boot Manager 63
