Messages 53 Deleting a conversation 1. On the All messages screen, press and hold a contact (or phone number) whose messages you want to delete, and then tap Delete. While looking at the exchange of messages in a conversation, you can also press MENU and then tap Delete > Delete thread. Any locked messages in the conversation thread will not be deleted unless you select the Delete locked messages check box. 2. When prompted to confirm, tap OK to delete the entire thread. Deleting several conversations 1. On the All messages screen, press MENU, and then tap Delete. 2. Select the conversation threads you want to delete. 3. Tap Delete. Any locked messages will not be deleted. Setting message options On the All messages screen, press MENU and then tap Settings. You'll find several groups of settings. Storage settings Delete old messages Text message limit Multimedia message limit Automatically delete older messages, except for locked messages, when the set limits are reached. Choose the maximum number of text messages to store in each conversation thread (this does not include locked messages). Choose the maximum number of picture messages to store in each conversation thread (this does not include locked messages). Recipient list settings Show email address Search and display the email addresses of stored contacts when you're adding message recipients. SMS settings Delivery reports Service center Manage SIM card messages Receive a report on the delivery status of your message. Displays the message service center number used. Tap to change the number. It is recommended that you do not change the number here for it may cause problems in receiving and sending messages. View text messages stored on your SIM card. You can also delete or copy these messages to your phone's memory.
