Getting Started Setting up your computer 47 Setting up your computer Your computer comes with a rechargeable battery pack that must be charged before you can use it. To use external power or to charge the battery, you must attach the AC adapter. See "Connecting the AC adapter" on page 48. To register your computer online, or to sign up for an Internet account, you must connect the built-in modem to a telephone line. See "Connecting to a phone line" on page 81 Before starting to use your computer, you may also want to: ❖ Add more memory. See "Adding memory" on page 68 ❖ Connect a mouse. See "Using a mouse" on page 62 ❖ Connect a full-size keyboard. See "Using an external keyboard" on page 61 ❖ Connect an external monitor.
