General Troubleshooting Check Menu Definition Tables A submenu containing a set of extensive tests that return measured mechanism parameters for comparison against stated limits. Refer to the table associated with each test for their normal operating ranges. In cases where insufficient baseline data is available, the Typical Values have been left blank. All results from tests that move paper through the printer were collected using 24 lb. bond paper. Note Collect 2 or 3 samples of the test data before deciding on a course of action. Many of the tests rely on mechanical positions and slight changes can effect the results. Ensure that the printer is not out of paper, ink or maintenance kit life. The diagnostics routines are not designed to address all of these conditions consistently. If a test result differs significantly from the typical values defined in the following tables, check the entire system containing the problem component to ensure a problem within the system is not influencing the test results. To access the Check Menus enter Service Diagnostics and go to Check Menu --> Check Activators Menu. Note The Check All selection will run all check tests, taking 1.5 hours to complete and is not for use by field technicians.
