PAGER/CODE SQUELCH 12 ■ Pager operation D Calling a specific station q Program the pager code channel in advance (p. 93). w Set the operating frequency. • Set the volume and squelch to the desired level as in normal operation. e Push [F• ] to display the function guide. r Push [MENU](V/MHz•SCAN) (Right band's) to enter the MENU screen. t Rotate [DIAL] to select "DUP/TONE..." then push [MAIN•BAND] to enter DUP/TONE set mode. y Rotate [DIAL] to select the "PGR/C-SQL" then push [MAIN•BAND]. u Rotate [DIAL] to set "PGR" then push [MAIN•BAND]. Select "PGR" i Select the desired 3-digit transmit code channel: ➥ Rotate [DIAL] to select "PGR MEMORY" then push [MAIN•BAND]. ➥ Rotate [DIAL] to select the desired pager code channel. ➥ Push [BACK](V/MHz•SCAN) (Right band's) three times to return to frequency indication. • "PGR" appears in normal frequency indication. 1 o Push [PTT] to transmit the pager code. 2 !0 Wait for an answer back. • When the transceiver receives an answer back code, the func- 3 tion display shows the other member's ID or group code. 4 !1 After confirming a connection, perform the previous steps e to u and select the code squelch operation "C-SQL," 5 or non-selective calling system, "OFF" in step u. 6 • Push [BACK](V/MHz•SCAN) (Right band's) twice to return to frequency indication. 7 !2 Communicate with the other party as normal: push [PTT] to transmit; release to receive. 8 9 D Waiting for a call from a specific station 10 q Set the operating frequency. w Turn pager function ON. 11 • Perform the steps e to u in "D Calling a specific station" as at 12 left. • "PGR" indication appear. 13 e Wait for a call. • When receiving a call, the caller's ID or group code appears as 14 shown at next page. 15 r Push [PTT] to send an answer-back call and display the operating frequency. 16 t After confirming a connection, select the code squelch 17 operation "C-SQL," or non-selective calling system "OFF." 18 19 94
