You can configure both redundancy and stacking, but in a system with three stacked controllers, you can add only one redundant controller, which is the fourth controller in the system. Typically, you would configure the primary controller in the stack also as the primary controller in the redundancy group. Note: The licenses on the secondary redundant controller need to match those on the primary controller. If the licenses do not match, redundancy does not work. These are the requirements for redundancy to function correctly: • Make sure that there are not more than two controllers with the same redundancy ID in the same Layer 3 network. • If two controllers are in the same redundancy group, you must configure one controller as the primary controller and the other controller as the secondary controller. • For the primary and secondary controllers in the same redundancy group, you must configure the same values for the redundancy ID, controller IP address, primary IP address, and secondary IP address.
