To remove a SCSI hard-disk drive from the external drive bay, use the following procedure: 1. Shut down the system, turn off the computer and any attached peripherals, and disconnect the computer and peripherals from their electrical outlets. 2. Remove the computer cover and front bezel. See "Removing the Computer Cover" and "Removing the Front Bezel" in Chapter 7. 3. Press inward on the two release tabs on the drive bay assembly, and pull the assembly about one inch out of the external drive bay. 4. Remove the flush-mount screw that secures the locking bar on the front of the assembly and remove the locking bar. 5. Open the drive carrier handle to release the carrier and slide the carrier toward you until it is free of the drive bay. 6. Insert the drive-bay filler panel or another drive carrier in the empty drive bay. 7. Replace the locking bar and the screw you removed in step 4. 8. Slide the drive bay assembly back into the external drive bay. 9. Replace the front bezel and computer cover. 10. To remove a SCSI hard-disk drive from the external drive bay, use the following
procedure:
1.
Shut down the system, turn off the computer and any attached peripherals, and
disconnect the computer and peripherals from their electrical outlets.
2.
Remove the computer cover and front bezel.
See “Removing the Computer Cover” and “Removing the Front Bezel” in
Chapter 7.
3.
Press inward on the two release tabs on the drive bay assembly, and pull the
assembly about one inch out of the external drive bay.
4.
Remove the flush-mount screw that secures the locking bar on the front of the
assembly and remove the locking bar.
5.
Open the drive carrier handle to release the carrier and slide the carrier toward
you until it is free of the drive bay.
6.
Insert the drive-bay filler panel or another drive carrier in the empty drive bay.
7.
Replace the locking bar and the screw you removed in step 4.
8.
Slide the drive bay assembly back into the external drive bay.
9.
Replace the front bezel and computer cover.
10.
Reconnect the computer and peripherals to their electrical outlets, and turn them
on.
