Check the printer for dust and aerosol on the covers, windows, computer screen, and so on. 2. If condensation is seen on the inside of the window over the middle of the printer, wipe it with a dry cloth. Use folding steps to reach the inside of the window. Clean the output platen The platen should be cleaned whenever it is visibly dirty, or when you notice marks on the back of the substrate. 1. Clean the platen with a clean cloth dampened with distilled water. Be very careful not to touch the printheads. 172 Chapter 11 Hardware maintenance
