Movable Slot System sensor errors

Page 307 highlights

● Either the embedded spectrophotometer or the line sensor is not working properly. If the problem persists, call your service representative. Movable Slot System sensor errors If the printer fails to detect a change of position of the Movable Slot System (MSS) during a configuration change, a sensor has probably been damaged. Respond as follows: 1. Check that you are moving the MSS elements as directed by the Internal Print Server, or check the labels. 2. Run diagnostic 89004 (Movable Slot System sensors check) to find out which sensor is not working properly. 3. Call a service engineer as soon as possible to repair the sensor. To avoid leaving the printer idle because of a position sensor, there is a Skip step button in each step of the configuration change process. You can continue printing as follows: 1. Start the change of configuration. 2. Follow the instructions and move the elements as indicated in the Internal Print Server. 3. Identify the step in which the Internal Print Server does not detect a physical change of an MSS element. 4. Use the labels to verify that the element is where it should be. 5. Tap the Skip step button. You are warned to ensure that MSS elements are placed in the correct position for the selected configuration. CAUTION: If the printhead pocket and the capping station are not aligned, the printhead will be damaged. 6. Finish the process, after which the printer will be ready to print. 7. Remember to call a service engineer as soon as possible to repair the sensor. Major errors in the substrate-axis direction An error of more than 5 mm in the substrate-axis direction is regarded as major. These are the possibilities: ● The sensor is not working properly, and the printhead pocket is not positioned correctly. Proceed as follows: 1. Check that you are moving the MSS elements as directed by the Internal Print Server, or check the labels. 2. Run diagnostic 89004 (Movable Slot System sensors check) to find out which sensor is not working properly. 3. Call a service engineer as soon as possible to repair the sensor. ● The Skip step button has been used, and the printhead pocket is not positioned correctly. Proceed as follows: 1. Look at the labels to check whether the MSS elements have been positioned correctly. 2. Movable Slot System sensor errors
If the printer fails to detect a change of position of the Movable Slot System (MSS) during a configuration change,
a sensor has probably been damaged.
Respond as follows:
1.
Check that you are moving the MSS elements as directed by the Internal Print Server, or check the labels.

configuration change process. You can continue printing as follows:
1.
Start the change of configuration.
2.
Follow the instructions and move the elements as indicated in the Internal Print Server.
3.
Identify the step in which the Internal Print Server does not detect a physical change of an MSS element.
4.
Use the labels to verify that the element is where it should be.
5.
Tap the

button. You are warned to ensure that MSS elements are placed in the correct position for
the selected configuration.
CAUTION:
If the printhead pocket and the capping station are not aligned, the printhead will be damaged.
6.
Finish the process, after which the printer will be ready to print.
7.
Remember to call a service engineer as soon as possible to repair the sensor.
Major errors in the substrate-axis direction
An error of more than 5 mm in the substrate-axis direction is regarded as major.
These are the possibilities:
The sensor is not working properly, and the printhead pocket is not positioned correctly. Proceed as follows:
1.
Check that you are moving the MSS elements as directed by the Internal Print Server, or check the labels.
2.
Run diagnostic 89004 (Movable Slot System sensors check) to find out which sensor is not working
