Chapter 9 Fault The following table describes the labels in this screen. Table 51 Fault > Event Log LABEL DESCRIPTION Target This field displays the name and IP address of each device. Select a device to look at it's event logs. Select EMS to view event logs relating to the EMS. Select All Devices to view event logs relating to all devices. Search Device... Click the Search Device... button to find or locate a device (or node). See Section 3.9.3.1 on page 56 for more details. Query Condition Slot Select a slot of a device for which you want to view event logs for. This field is only available when a device is selected in the Target list. Select All to view event logs for all slots. Port This field is not available when you select All Devices in the Target list. Select a port for which you want to view event logs for. Select All to view event logs for all ports. Type This field is not available when you select All Devices in the Target list or All in the Slot field. Select the type of logs from the drop-down list box. Choices are All, Communication, QualityOfService, ProcessingError, Equipment and Environmental. Select All for system event logs generated by all alarm types. Select Communication for transmission and signal logs. Select QualityOfService for performance logs. Select Processing Error for software and configuration problem logs. Select Equipment for hardware-related logs. Select Environmental for environmental logs. Severity See the appendix for a more detailed list of possible alarm causes. Select the severity level of the logs you want to display from the dropdown list box. The choices and associated colors are as follows: Ack Clear Category ..... • Critical - Red • Major - Orange • Minor - Yellow • Information - Blue Specify whether to display acknowledged logs, not acknowledged logs or all. Specify whether to display cleared logs, not cleared logs or all. Select the category of events to search through using the Keyword field.
