Chapter 14 Switch Configuration Table 98 Switch Configuration > VLAN: Port Based (continued) LABEL DESCRIPTION Outgoing These are the egress ports; an egress port is an outgoing port, that is, a port through which a data packet leaves. If you wish to allow two subscriber ports to talk to each other, you must define the egress port for both ports. CPU refers to the switch management port. By default it forms a VLAN with all Ethernet ports. If it does not form a VLAN with a particular port then the switch cannot be managed from that port. Apply Click Apply to save the changes, including the "wizard settings". Copy to... Click the Copy to.. button to copy the configuration from the device that you are currently configuring to other device(s) of the same model. Close Click Close to exit the screen. 14.11 Port Security Port security allows only packets with dynamically learned MAC addresses and/or configured static MAC addresses to pass through a port on the switch. For maximum port security, enable this feature, disable MAC address learning and configure static MAC address(es) for a port. It is not recommended you disable Port Security together with MAC address learning as this will result in many broadcasts.
