Chapter 1 Introducing the EMS 1.2 System Requirements These are the system requirements for the computer upon which you install the EMS Server or EMS Remote Client. See the Quick Start Guide for installation proceudres for the EMS Server and EMS Remote Client. Table 1 EMS Server System Requirements HARDWARE SOFTWARE • Sun Ultra SPARC Workstation • Memory (RAM): 1 GB or more • Hard Disk free space: 60 GB or more • Screen Resolution: 1024 x 768 pixels or better • Ethernet Adaptor: 10/100/1000 Mbps • Operating System: Solaris 2.9 • X11R6/Motif 2.2 • Database: MySQL 4.1.8 • HP OpenView Network Node Manager 7.5 • Web Server: Apache 2.2.4 (for OSS Interface) (optional) Table 2 EMS Remote Client System Requirements HARDWARE SOFTWARE • Sun Ultra SPARC Workstation • Memory (RAM): 1 GB or more • Hard Disk free space: 60 GB or more • Screen Resolution: 1024 x 768 pixels or better • Ethernet Adaptor: 10/100/1000 Mbps • Operating System: Solaris 2.9 • X11R6/Motif 2.2 • HP OpenView Network Node Manager 7.5 • Web Server: Apache 2.2.4 (for OSS Interface) (optional) 1.3 Uninstalling the EMS Server To just remove the EMS, enter the following command to uninstall the EMS Server: /opt/GEPONEMS/uninstall The EMS prompts you to confirm that you want to uninstall the EMS. Enter y to proceed. Remove NetAtlas EPON Manager... Warning: You are going to uninstall NetAtlas EPON Manager, are you sure? [no] >> y Start uninstallation... Stop the EMS Window... Stop the EMS service 'alarmserver'... . . . Removing files from /usr/local/apache2/... Removing files from /usr/local/lib... Unload mib files... NetAtlas EPON Manager is removed successfully!
