Chapter 11 Tools 11.2 Ping Ping the host to see if the links and TCP/IP protocol on both your computer and the device is working. Follow the steps below: 1 Select a device you wish to ping in the Device List Panel. 2 Click Tools > Ping to display the following screen. Figure 98 Tools > Ping 3 Select Continual Test to repeatedly ping the IP address until you choose to stop. 4 If you wish to ping a different IP address that is different to the device you selected then type it's IP address into the IP Address text boxes. 5 Type the size of the packet (in bytes) that you wish to ping the device with in the text box provided. The standard packet size for a ping is 64 bytes. 6 If you have not selected Continual Test you can type the number of packets to send in the Number of Packets text box. 7 Click Apply to have the EMS ping the IP address of the selected device using the settings you have configured. 8 A screen like the following will be displayed.
