Chapter 16 IP Configuration The following table describes the related labels in this screen. Table 108 IP Configuration > IP Address Setup LABEL DESCRIPTION Domain Name Server Enter the IP address of the domain name server in dotted decimal notation, for example 192.168.1.20. Default Select which traffic flow (in_band or out_of_band) the OLT is to use to Managemen send packets with an unknown source or that originated from the switch t itself (such as SNMP traps). Select out_of_band to have the OLT send the packets to the out-of-band management port. This means that device(s) connected to the other port(s) do not receive these packets. Select in_band to have the OLT send the packets to all ports except the out-of-band management port. This means that device(s) connected to out-of-band management port do not receive these packets. In-band Management IP Address In-band IP Type Select dhcp_client if you have a DHCP server that can assign the OLT an IP address and subnet mask, a default gateway IP address and a domain name server IP address. Select static_ip if you don't have a DHCP server or if you wish to assign static IP address information to the OLT. You need to fill in the following fields when you select this option. IP Address Enter the IP address of your OLT in dotted decimal notation for example 192.168.1.1. IP Subnet Mask Enter the IP subnet mask of your OLT in dotted decimal notation for example 255.255.255.0. Default Gateway Enter the IP address of the default outgoing gateway in dotted decimal notation, for example 192.168.1.254 VID Enter the VLAN identification number associated with the OLT IP address. This is the VLAN ID of the CPU and is used for management only. The default is "1". All ports, by default, are fixed members of this "management VLAN" in order to manage the device from any port. If a port is not a member of this VLAN, then users on that port cannot access the device. To access the OLT make sure the port that you are connected to is a member of Management VLAN. Out-of-band Management IP Address IP Address Enter the IP address of your OLT in dotted decimal notation for example 192.168.0.1. IP Subnet Mask Enter the IP subnet mask of your OLT in dotted decimal notation for example 255.255.255.0. Default Gateway Enter the IP address of the default outgoing gateway in dotted decimal notation, for example 192.168.1.254 Apply Click Apply to save the changes. In-band IP Addresses You can create up to 64 IP addresses, which are used to access and manage the OLT from the ports belonging to the pre-defined VLAN(s). You must configure a VLAN first. Index This field displays the index number of the rule. 222 NetAtlas EPON Manager User's Guide

LABEL
DESCRIPTION
Domain
Name
Server
Enter the IP address of the domain name server in dotted decimal notation,
for example 192.168.1.20.
Default
Managemen
t
Select which traffic flow (
in_band
or
out_of_band
) the OLT is to use to
send packets with an unknown source or that originated from the switch
itself (such as SNMP traps).
Select
out_of_band
to have the OLT send the packets to the out-of-band
management port. This means that device(s) connected to the other
port(s) do not receive these packets.
Select
in_band
to have the OLT send the packets to all ports except the
out-of-band management port. This means that device(s) connected to
out-of-band management port do not receive these packets.

IP Address
In-band IP
Type
Select
dhcp_client
if you have a DHCP server that can assign the OLT an
IP address and subnet mask, a default gateway IP address and a domain
name server IP address.
Select
static_ip
if you don't have a DHCP server or if you wish to assign
static IP address information to the OLT. You need to fill in the following
fields when you select this option.
IP Address
Enter the IP address of your OLT in dotted decimal notation for example
192.168.1.1.
IP Subnet
Mask
Enter the IP subnet mask of your OLT in dotted decimal notation for
example 255.255.255.0.
Default
Gateway
Enter the IP address of the default outgoing gateway in dotted decimal
notation, for example 192.168.1.254
VID
Enter the VLAN identification number associated with the OLT IP address.
This is the VLAN ID of the CPU and is used for management only. The
default is "1". All ports, by default, are fixed members of this "management
VLAN" in order to manage the device from any port. If a port is not a
member of this VLAN, then users on that port cannot access the device. To
access the OLT make sure the port that you are connected to is a member
of Management VLAN.
Out-of-band Management IP Address
IP Address
Enter the IP address of your OLT in dotted decimal notation for example
192.168.0.1.
IP Subnet
Mask
Enter the IP subnet mask of your OLT in dotted decimal notation for
example 255.255.255.0.
Default
Gateway
Enter the IP address of the default outgoing gateway in dotted decimal
notation, for example 192.168.1.254

to save the changes.
In-band IP
Addresses
You can create up to 64 IP addresses, which are used to access and
manage the OLT from the ports belonging to the pre-defined VLAN(s). You
must configure a VLAN first.
