Chapter 17 RMON Configuration 17.3.1 RMON Event Configuration To create a new RMON event configuration, click New... in the Event screen. To change the settings of a selected RMON event configuration, click Modify... in the Event screen. Table 117 RMON Configuration > Event > New LABEL DESCRIPTION Active Select this checkbox to enable the event configuration. Type Select an event type. Choices are Log and Trap. Select Log to generate a log when an associated alarm is generated. Select Trap to generate a trap when an associated alarm is generated. You can select none of the options to not generate a log or trap when an associated alarm is generated. Community Description Owner OK Cancel You can select both to generate a log entry and trap when an associated alarm is generated. This field displays the community (or password). You can use 1-31 printable ASCII characters. Spaces are allowed. Enter a description of the event. You can use 1-127 printable ASCII characters. Spaces are allowed. You can also leave this field blank. Enter a descriptive name of the application that creates this entry. You can use 1-31 printable ASCII characters. Spaces are allowed. Click this to save the settings and close this screen. Click this to discard all changes and close the screen. 17.4 The Alarm Screen Use this screen to configure alarms that occur when the sampled data exceeds the specified threshold.
