Chapter 19 EPON Profile Configuration Table 133 Traffic Bridging Types BRIDGING TYPE UPSTREAM DOWNSTREAM Priority Shared VLAN This divides the PON interface into multiple multicast domains. The links in this mode and having the same VLAN tag belong to the same multicast group. The OLT adds a network VLAN tag and forwards a upstream frame whether it has a VLAN tag or not. The OLT also learns the source MAC address of the upstream frames. The OLT removes the network VLAN tag from the downstream frames before forwarding them to the corresponding links based on the VLAN IDs, priority values and destination address. If the downstream frame's destination address is not found in the MAC table, the OLT broadcasts it to any link in the same multicast group. The OLT drops downstream frames that do not have a VLAN ID. Transparent Priority Shared VLAN This divides the PON interface into multiple multicast domains. The links in this mode and having the same VLAN tag belong to the same multicast group. The OLT adds a network VLAN tag and forwards a upstream frame whether it has a VLAN tag or not. The OLT also learns the source MAC address of the upstream frames. The OLT forwards the downstream frames to the corresponding links based on the VLAN IDs, priority values and destination address. If the downstream frame's destination address is not found in the MAC table, the OLT broadcasts it to any link in the same multicast group. The OLT drops downstream frames that do not have a VLAN ID. Priority Simple Bridged In this mode, only unicast traffic is prioritized. The OLT forwards all incoming traffic and learns the source address of the upstream unicast traffic. If a frame's destination MAC address is found in the MAC table, the OLT forwards the frame to a link based on its priority values. The OLT drops the frames with the matched MAC addresses when the priority values in the frames are out of the specified range. If a frame's destination MAC address is not found in the MAC table, the OLT broadcast it. Downstream frames with the VLAN tags will be discarded. Priority Copy Single VLAN This mode has the same behavior as the Dedicated Single VLAN mode. In this mode, the OLT can also use the priority copy function to change the priority value in the VLAN tag or IP header according to the predefined priority mapping table. See Section 18.1 on page 239 for more information. Priority Copy Double VLAN This mode has the same behavior as the Dedicated Double VLAN mode. In this mode, the OLT can also use the priority copy function to change the priority value in the VLAN tag or IP header according to the predefined priority mapping table. See Section 18.1 on page 239 for more information. 266 NetAtlas EPON Manager User's Guide

Chapter 19 EPON Profile Configuration
NetAtlas EPON Manager User’s Guide
266
Priority Shared VLAN
This divides the PON interface
into multiple multicast domains.
The links in this mode and
having the same VLAN tag
belong to the same multicast
group. The OLT adds a network
VLAN tag and forwards a
upstream frame whether it has
a VLAN tag or not. The OLT also
learns the source MAC address
of the upstream frames.
The OLT removes the network
VLAN tag from the downstream
frames before forwarding them
to the corresponding links
based on the VLAN IDs, priority
values and destination address.
If the downstream frame's
destination address is not found
in the MAC table, the OLT
broadcasts it to any link in the
same multicast group. The OLT
drops downstream frames that
do not have a VLAN ID.
Transparent Priority
Shared VLAN
This divides the PON interface
into multiple multicast domains.
The links in this mode and
having the same VLAN tag
belong to the same multicast
group. The OLT adds a network
VLAN tag and forwards a
upstream frame whether it has
a VLAN tag or not. The OLT also
learns the source MAC address
of the upstream frames.
The OLT forwards the
downstream frames to the
corresponding links based on
the VLAN IDs, priority values
and destination address. If the
downstream frame's destination
address is not found in the MAC
table, the OLT broadcasts it to
any link in the same multicast
group. The OLT drops
downstream frames that do not
have a VLAN ID.
Priority Simple
Bridged
In this mode, only unicast
traffic is prioritized. The OLT
forwards all incoming traffic and
learns the source address of the
upstream unicast traffic.
If a frame's destination MAC
address is found in the MAC
table, the OLT forwards the
frame to a link based on its
priority values. The OLT drops
the frames with the matched
MAC addresses when the
priority values in the frames are
out of the specified range. If a
frame's destination MAC
address is not found in the MAC
table, the OLT broadcast it.
Downstream frames with the
VLAN tags will be discarded.
Priority Copy Single
VLAN
This mode has the same behavior as the
Dedicated Single
VLAN
mode. In this mode, the OLT can also use the priority copy
function to change the priority value in the VLAN tag or IP header
according to the predefined priority mapping table. See
Section
18.1 on page 239
for more information.
Priority Copy Double
VLAN
This mode has the same behavior as the
Dedicated Double
VLAN
mode. In this mode, the OLT can also use the priority copy
function to change the priority value in the VLAN tag or IP header
according to the predefined priority mapping table. See
Section
18.1 on page 239
for more information.
