Chapter 6 Template 6.2.2 Adding an IP Range for an IGMP Filter Profile Clicking on an index entry in the New/Modify IGMP Filter screen will display the screen as shown. Figure 50 IGMP Filtering Profile Template > New/Modify: IP Range The following table describes the labels in this screen. Table 36 IGMP Filtering Profile Template > New/Modify: IP Range LABEL DESCRIPTION Start IP Enter the starting multicast IP address for a range of multicast IP addresses to which you want this IGMP filter to allow access. End IP Enter the ending multicast IP address for a range of IP addresses to which you want this IGMP filter to allow access. OK Cancel If you want to add a single multicast IP address, enter it in both the Start IP and End IP fields. Click OK to save the IP address changes and close this screen. Click Cancel to close this screen without saving your changes. 6.3 Multicast Setting Template Use these screens to configure a multicast template for upload to multiple devices. Traditionally, IP packets are transmitted in one of either two ways - Unicast (1 sender to 1 recipient) or Broadcast (1 sender to everybody on the network). Multicast delivers IP packets to just a group of hosts on the network. Multicast Group Limit You can limit the number of multicast groups a subscriber on a port can join.
