Chapter 4 Map 4.1.1 Adding a Submap or Device To add a new submap or a new device, make sure you select the Root Subnet or a submap icon in the Device List Panel. Click Map > Add Submap/Device Node to display the following screen. Figure 35 Map > Add Submap/Device Node The following table describes the labels in this screen. Table 23 Map > Add Submap/Device Node LABEL DESCRIPTION Node Type These options are not applicable when you edit the properties of an existing submap or device. Select the Submap or Device radio button to add a new submap or device icon to the Device List Panel. Node Name Descriptions IP Address If you select Submap, only the Node Name and Descriptions fields are displayed. Enter a descriptive name (up to 31 characters) for identification purposes. Enter a description (up to 31 characters) about the node. This field is not applicable when you select Submap. System User Name System Password Get Community Set Community Enter the IP address of the device. Enter the administrator account user name to log into the device. Enter the administrative password (up to 31 characters) you use to log in to the device. This password is used by the EMS administrator for device firmware upload. Enter the get community, which is the password for the incoming Getand GetNext- requests from the management station.
