Parameters method-list-name default Enter the method-list-name to specify that method list, created in the aaa authentication login command, to be applied to the designated terminal line. Enter the keyword default to specify that the default method list, created in the aaa authentication login command, is applied to the terminal line. Defaults No authentication is performed on the console lines, and local authentication is performed on the virtual terminal and auxiliary lines. Syntax password [encryption-type] password To delete a password, use the no password password command. Parameters encryption-type password (OPTIONAL) Enter either zero (0) or 7 as the encryption type for the password entered. The options are: • 0 is the default and means the password is not encrypted and stored as clear text. • 7 means that the password is encrypted and hidden. Enter a string up to 32 characters long. The first character of the password must be a letter. You cannot use spaces in the password. Defaults No password is configured.
