UTILITY Mode UTILITY Mode You use UTILITY mode to set up the system's environment, and to record and play sequences. UTILITY Functions UTILITY mode offers the six functions described below. TOTAL EQ This function sets up the 4-band equalizer for the stereo output.␣ (287) PANEL PLAY This function lets you set up knobs so that they operate as MIDI controllers, and function keys so that they operate as MIDI keyboard keys.␣ (291) SEQUENCE Use this function to record and replay MIDI sequences. (296) MASTER Use this function to adjust the system's output pitch, to adjust the level to the stereo outputs, and to set an assignable-output destination for the stereo output signal.␣ (298) SYSTEM This function sets the operating mode for the ASSIGNABLE and AUDITION keys, selects whether notes are displayed by name or MIDI number, and determines the first function that becomes active when you switch to a new mode, and the first page that becomes active when you switch to a new function. (300) MIDI This function sets the various MIDI parameters (Basic Receive Channel, "omni" enable, velocity curve, and others).␣ (305) Important Changes that you make in UTILITY mode never cause any changes to the local settings stored in your programs and samples. But some UTILITY settings do affect the way that programs and samples behave, and may effectively disable (or add an offset to) the local settings. 280 Chapter 8 UTILITY Mode
