Chapter 9 Device Network Settings Table 112 Device Operation > Device Configuration > Network > Interface > PPP > Edit > Configuration (continued) LABEL DESCRIPTION Nailed-Up Select this if the PPPoE/PPTP connection should always be up. Clear this to have the ZyWALL establish the PPPoE/PPTP connection only when there is traffic. You might use this option if a lot of traffic needs to go through the interface or it does not cost extra to keep the connection up all the time. Dial-onDemand Select this to have the ZyWALL establish the PPPoE/PPTP connection only when there is traffic. You might use this option if there is little traffic through the interface or if it costs money to keep the connection available. Description Enter a description of this interface. It is not used elsewhere. You can use alphanumeric and characters, and it can be up to 60 characters long. Base Interface This field is read-only and displays the name of the interface upon which this PPP interface is built. Account Profile Select the ISP account that this PPPoE/PPTP interface uses. The dropdown box lists ISP accounts by name. You can configure ISP accounts in the Device Operation > Device Configuration > Object > ISP Account screen. Protocol This field is read-only. It displays the protocol specified in the ISP account. User Name This field is read-only. It displays the user name for the ISP account. Service Name This field is read-only. It displays the PPPoE service name specified in the ISP account. This field is blank if the ISP account uses PPTP. ISP Setting Protocol Select the protocol that your ISP uses for the account. Options are: pppoe - This ISP account uses the PPPoE protocol. pptp - This ISP account uses the PPTP protocol. Authentication Use the drop-down list box to select an authentication protocol for Type outgoing calls. Options are: Chap/PAP - The ZyWALL accepts either CHAP or PAP when requested by this remote node. Chap - The ZyWALL accepts CHAP only. PAP - The ZyWALL accepts PAP only. MSCHAP - The ZyWALL accepts MSCHAP only. User Name Password, Retype to Confirm Service Name MSCHAP-V2 - The ZyWALL accepts MSCHAP-V2 only. This field is read-only. It displays the user name for the ISP account. Type your password. Then re- to make sure that you have entered is correctly. This field is optional. It displays the PPPoE service name specified in the ISP account. This field is blank if the ISP account uses PPTP. Vantage CNM User's Guide 287
