Quick step guide If you think you have a problem with your computer, you can use the following quick step guide to determine the nature of the problem. Have you added hardware or software? Yes, added hardware. Refer to "Solving hardware problems" on page 38. Remove the hardware and restart the computer. Does the computer still have the problem? No Yes There may be a problem with the hardware you installed. See "How and when do I purchase additional support?" on page 90. Your computer does not have a problem. From Windows, run the PC Doctor diagnostics. Choose the Quick Test Diagnostics option. Remove the software and restart the computer Does the computer still have the problem? Yes No Did the computer pass the test? Yes No Insert the Product Recovery and Diagnostics CD-ROM into the CD or DVD drive, restart your computer and choose option 1 to run the Easy Test Diagnostics.
