Troubleshooting Error code and description Here's what to do... 1780 IDE Primary Channel Master Drive Error 1781 IDE Primary Channel Slave Drive Error 1 Make sure the IDE signal cable is properly connected to the drive and to the system board. 2 Make sure the drive power cable is properly connected. 3 Enter Setup and make sure that the IDE Primary Channel Master parameter is set to Auto. For information on the Setup Utility options, see the Aptiva online help. 4 If the error still shows after performing the above steps, replace the IDE drive. It may be defective.
