Managing interface modules 5 To set the priority of slot 1 to the highest priority (8), enter the following command. PowerConnect(config)# lp-slot-priority 1 8 Syntax: lp-slot-priority • The parameter indicates that the slot number for which you are changing the priority. You can specify 1 - 4 for 4-slot routers, 1 - 8 for 8-slot routers, or 1 - 16 for 16-slot devices. • The parameter indicates the priority of the slot if the router loses power. You can specify a value of 1 - 8, where 1 is the lowest priority and 8 is the highest priority. You can set one, some, or all slots to the same priority or each slot to a different priority. Disabling and re-enabling power to interface modules You can disable and re-enable power to a specified interface module, or to all interface modules. For example. to disable power to the interface module in slot 1, enter the following command at the Privileged EXEC level of the CLI. PowerConnect# power-off lp 1 To disable power on all interface modules, enter the following command: PowerConnect# power-off lp all In this output example, there is one interface module in slot 2, which is powered off. PowerConnect# power-off lp all Slot 2 is powered off. rw_power_off_lp: write 00030000 to RW_MBRIDGE_CARD_POWER_OFF_REG Syntax: power-off lp all • The parameter indicates the slot number for which you are disabling the power. You can specify 1 - 4 for 4-slot routers, 1 - 8 for 8-slot routers, or 1 - 16 for 16-slot devices. • The all parameter allows you to power off all interface modules. To re-enable power to the interface module in slot 1, enter the following command at the Privileged EXEC level of the CLI. PowerConnect# power-on lp 1 To re-enable power on all interface modules, enter the following command. PowerConnect# power-on lp all In this output example, there is one interface module in slot 3 and slot 3 is powered on.
