• IPv6 forwarding is permanently disabled on the management Ethernet interface so that it remains in Host mode and does not operate as a router regardless of the ipv6 address autoconfig setting. If necessary, you can manually disable IPv6 processing on an interface so that the configured IPv6 addresses do not take effect. The IPv6 addresses take effect again when you re-enable IPv6. If you disable IPv6 and configure a Layer (L2) interface in Layer (L3) mode, IPv6 is not automatically re-enabled on the interface. You must manually re-enable it. A link-local address automatically generates when you re-enable IPv6 on an interface with the ipv6 enable command.
