Chapter 1 - Using the Printer Loading Media for Printing From an External Supply You can place the media supply, such as fanfold tickets or tags, behind the printer. The external supply can be used with these printing methods: • Tear-off (straight-through) • Cut-off • Peel-off (upper slot only) • Internal batch takeup Intermec strongly recommends using the fanfold guide accessory. This guide makes loading media easier and accurately guides the media. The fanfold guide can be adjusted for various media widths down to 40 mm (1.57 in). Note: Make sure to protect the media from dust, dirt, or other foreign particles that can impair the printout quality or cause unnecessary wear to the printhead. To load media for printing from an external supply 1 (Optional) Fit the fanfold guides in either the upper or lower slot. The outer guide is adjustable for various media widths. The minimum width is 40 mm (1.58 in). • Fit the fanfold guide into the upper slot in the rear plate when the supply is at the same level as the printer or in peel-off mode. • Fit the fanfold guide into the lower slot in the rear plate when the supply is placed lower than the printer. To load media for printing from an external supply
