Conserving supplies There are several steps you can take to extend the life of your printer supplies and reduce overall printing costs. Depending on your printing requirements, you can reduce the amount of toner you use for each print job, print drafts of color documents in black only, and choose settings that help reduce wear on the photoconductors and the developer rolls inside the toner cartridges. Toner Saver setting Set Toner Saver On in the Color Menu to significantly reduce the amount of toner applied to each page. Print quality may vary, depending on the types of jobs you print. For example, if your document is composed largely of text and graphics, you may not detect any noticeable difference in the print quality when Toner Saver is On. If you are printing images, the colors in the images may appear slightly less saturated. 96 Chapter 6: Replacing supplies

Conserving

your printer supplies and reduce overall printing costs.
Depending on your printing requirements, you can reduce
the amount of toner you use for each print job, print drafts
of color documents in black only, and choose settings that

oper rolls inside the toner cartridges.
Toner Saver setting

reduce the amount of toner applied to each page. Print
quality may vary, depending on the types of jobs you
