3 Scripting Illustrator At this point, you should have a good idea of what scripting is and how it works. We are ready to begin looking at scripting Adobe Illustrator. Illustrator's object model A good understanding of Illustrator's object model will improve your scripting abilities. Figure 3.1, "Adobe Illustrator Scripting Object Model" shows the containment hierarchy of the object model, starting with the application object. Note that the layer, group item, and all text classes can contain additional objects of the same class which can in turn contain additional nested objects.
