Each physical device in your network contains a MAC address. OS10 devices automatically enter learned MAC addresses as dynamic entries in the MAC address table. Learned MAC address entries are subject to aging. Set the aging timer to zero (0) to disable MAC aging. For any dynamic entry, if no packet arrives on the device with the MAC address as the source or destination address within the timer period, the address is removed from the table. • Enter an aging time (in seconds) in CONFIGURATION mode (0 to 1000000, default 1800). mac address-table aging-time seconds Configure Aging Time OS10(config)# mac address-table aging-time 900 Disable Aging Time OS10(config)# mac address-table aging-time 0 Static MAC Address A static MAC address entry is one that you manually configure.
