Removal and Replacement Procedures- Small Form Factor (SFF) Chassis 7.12 Front I/O Device 1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (Section 7.1). 2. Remove the access panel (Section 7.3). 3. Remove the fan shroud (Section 7.11). 4. Remove the optical drive (Section 7.7.2). 5. Rotate the optical drive retainer to its upright position to access the memory module sockets. 6. Remove the two screws that secure the front I/O device to the chassis 1. 7. Push the front I/O device into the chassis 2 and disconnect the cables from the system board. Removal and Replacement Procedures— Small Form Factor (SFF) Chassis
7.12 Front I/O Device
1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (
Section 7.1
).
2. Remove the access panel (
Section 7.3
).
3. Remove the fan shroud (
Section 7.11
).
4. Remove the optical drive (
Section 7.7.2
).
5. Rotate the optical drive retainer to its upright position to access the memory module sockets.
6. Remove the two screws that secure the front I/O device to the chassis

Push the front I/O device into the chassis

and disconnect the cables from the system board.
To reinstall the front I/O device, reverse the removal procedure.
