Table 5-7. Problems Using the Floppy Disk Drive Problem The floppy drive does not respond to commands. Solution Re-enter the commands and make sure that you have typed them correctly. Make sure that you specified the device file /dev/rfloppy/c201d0s0 for commands that require a device file name. Make sure that the write-protect tab is set to write if you are trying to copy data to a floppy diskette. Follow the instructions in the section entitled "Running System Verification Tests" later in this chapter to verify that the floppy drive is functioning properly. If problems persist, contact your system administrator or call your designated service representative. 6-9
