7 TROUBLESHOOTING This chapter provides solutions to possible printing problems. See the following table of contents to locate the appropriate page for your question or problem. PROBLEMS RELATED TO PRINTING OPERATION • Printing does not take place 77 • Two-sided printing does not take place 78 • A tray, finisher, or other peripheral device installed on the machine cannot be used 78 PROBLEMS RELATED TO PRINT RESULTS • The image is grainy 79 • The image is too light or too dark 79 • Text and lines are faint and difficult to see 79 • Part of the image is cut off 79 • The image is upside down 80 • Many nonsense characters are printed 80 • System settings Descriptions of system settings similar to the following example appear in this chapter. Wait at least 10 seconds, and then switch on the main power switch and the [POWER] key ( ) in that order. * Do not turn off the machine's main power switch or remove the power plug while a job is being executed or processed.
