From the reference points displayed on the screen, d select the point to be used for positioning the design. BASIC EMBROIDERY Remove the embroidery positioning sticker from the h fabric. 2 Touch . i Note • The built-in camera may not be able to detect the embroidery positioning sticker if the four corners of the sticker are not firmly affixed to the fabric. Use tape to firmly affix the sticker to the fabric or try a new sticker. Touch . e When the following message appears, touch . f Note • If the message that could not recognize the embroidery positioning sticker appears, touch , remove the embroidery positioning sticker, and then affix it within the embroidering area. Then, touch again. Touch . j Touch , and then press the "Start/Stop" k button to start embroidering. Note • After all of the included embroidery positioning stickers have been used, new ones can be purchased separately. When purchasing new ones, check "Optional accessories" on page 14 for the part code, and then contact your nearest authorized Brother dealer.  The built-in camera automatically detects the embroidery positioning sticker, and then the embroidery frame is moved so that the reference point is aligned with the center of the large circle in the embroidery positioning sticker. When the machine's built-in camera has finished g detecting the location of the embroidery positioning sticker, the message stating to remove the embroidery positioning sticker appears. Memo • You can touch to confirm the embroidery position is correctly aligned before removing the embroidery positioning sticker. - Touch for the closer image. - Touch again to return to the previous screen. Checking the embroidery pattern The carriage moves and shows the pattern position. Watch the embroidery frame closely to make sure the pattern will be embroidered in the right place. Note • If you are embroidering a large project such as a jacket or curtains, your embroidering may be interrupted by the presser feet not in use catching on the fabric outside of the design area. Try to stitch the design as close to the center of the embroidery frame, using needle bars 3 through 7. (For details on selecting the needle bar, refer to page 57 or page 59.) Touch . 79
