3.3.2.5 Event tracing It is possible to duplicate log events of the recovery operations, performed on the managed machine, in the Application Event Log of Windows; or send the events to the specified SNMP managers. Windows event log This option is effective only in Windows operating systems. This option is not available when operating under the bootable media. This option defines whether the agent(s) operating on the managed machine have to log events of the recovery operations in the Application Event Log of Windows (to see this log, run eventvwr.exe or select Control Panel > Administrative tools > Event Viewer). You can filter the events to be logged. The preset is: Use the setting set in the Machine options. To select whether to log the recovery operations events in the Application Event Log of Windows: Select one of the following: Use the setting set in the Machine options - to use the setting specified for the machine. For more information refer to Machine options. Log the following event types - to log events of the recovery operations in the Application Event Log. Specify the types of events to be logged: All events - log all events (information, warnings and errors) Errors and warnings Errors only Do not log - to disable logging events of the recovery operations in the Application Event Log. SNMP notifications This option is effective for Windows operating systems. This option is not available when operating under the bootable media. The option defines whether the agent(s) operating on the managed machine have to send the log events to the specified Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) managers. You can choose the types of events to be sent. You can override the settings set here, exclusively for the events that occur during backup or during recovery, in the Default backup and recovery options (p. 31). In this case, the settings set here will be effective for operations other than backup and recovery, such as archive validation or cleanup. You can further override the settings set in the default backup and recovery options, when creating a backup plan or a recovery task.
