These are essential for airflow efficiency and for keeping dust out of the system. You must remove the blank drive insert if you decide to replace it with an optional diskette or optical drive. From the back of the blank drive insert, slide the lever on the sliding plate in the direction of the arrow until the shoulder screw is released. Then pull the PVC tab to remove the blank drive insert. To replace the blank drive insert, align the bottom of it with the sliding plate and gently push it back until the shoulder screw locks into place. See Figure 3-5. Installing System Components 51
