Using the NeoLinux Print Manager utility • Printer name [required] - This is the name of the printer that will be displayed in the Select Printer dialog. Each printer that you define must have a unique name. Spaces may be used in printer names, but the following characters may not be used This entry creates the following lines for this printer in the dynamically-generated printcap file: :\ :sd=/var/spool/lpd/:\ If this printer is set as the default printer, then the first line of the entry will be: lp|:\ • Local printer [required] - This button must be selected to add a local printer to the thin client. • Port [required] - Select the port to which the printer is attached. Choices are: Parallel, Serial 1, Serial 2, USB, and Other. • Device Name [required] - The device name is automatically populated based on the choice made in the Port field, except for Other. Parallel - /dev/lp0 Serial 1 - /dev/ttyS0 Serial 2 - /dev/ttyS1 USB - /dev/usb Other - [empty] The administrator may change the default device names if desired, as long as they are valid device names to NeoLinux. When Other is chosen in the Port field, then the administrator must enter a device name in this field.
