Chapter 36: Converting to STB (Stitch to Block) Settings After converting a stitch file to an outline file, the size of the design, pull compensation, density and stitch length can be changed by more than 20%, depending on how the design was digitized. In addition, after conversion, the type of stitches and underlay can be adjusted. NOTE: This feature is only available in the advanced editing and digitizing levels of the software. To convert a file to STB settings: 1 Open the stitch file that you wish to convert to STB settings. 2 On the Edit drop-down menu, click Select All. "Dancing ants" (moving dashes) appear around the text shape. 3 On the Shape drop-down menu, point to Convert To, and then click STB Settings. The Stitch To Block Settings dialog box appears. 4 Click the Convert Now button. The design is converted into a .bdf file. NOTE: To change various properties, select the area in the design, and then press the Enter key. The Shape Properties dialog box appears. In the Stitches tab, select the desired settings. 83

Open the stitch file that you wish to convert to STB settings.
