Configuring ARP Using the CLI Commands The following table summarizes the CLI commands for setting fields displayed in the ARP pages. Table 9-36. ARP CLI Commands CLI Command Description arp ip_addr mac_addr {[gigabitethernet|tengigabit ethernet] port-number|vlan vlan-id|port-channel LAGnumber} Adds a permanent entry in the ARP cache. no arp ip-address Removes an ARP entry from the ARP Table. arp timeout seconds Configures how long an entry remains in the ARP cache. This command can be used in Global Configuration mode for all interfaces, or in Interface Configuration mode for a specific interface. clear arp-cache Deletes all dynamic entries from the ARP cache show arp Displays entries in the ARP Table. show arp configuration Displays the global and interface configuration of the ARP protocol The following is an example of the CLI commands: console(config)# arp 198.133.219.232 00-00-0c-40-0f-bc console(config)# arp timeout 12000 console(config)# exit console# show arp ARP timeout: 12000 Seconds Interface IP Address HW Address Status --------- ---------- ---------- ------ gi1/0/11 10.7.1.102 00:10:B5:04:DB:4B dynamic gi1/0/12 10.7.1.135 00:50:22:00:2A:A4 static 244 Dell PowerConnect 55xx Systems User Guide
