Setting the zigzag stop position When the plain zigzag, 2-step zigzag, 3-step zigzag or scallop sewing patterns are selected, you can set whether the needle stops when it is at the right side or the left side of the sewing pattern. (If the right stopping has been set, the needle stop position will be the position shown by ˕ in the illustration below.) * When the straight stitch, blind stitch or custom-made sewing patterns have been selected, the zigzag stop position setting is ignored. ˙ Sewing machine operation when sewing stops When right stopping or left stopping is set, the sewing machine will keep running until the set position is reached, even if the treadle is returned to the neutral position or depressed backward. • For plain zigzag, 2-step zigzag and 3-step zigzag, the needle will stop at the stitch furthest to the right if right stopping has been set, or at the stitch furthest to the left if left stopping has been set. • For the scallop sewing pattern, the needle will stop at the next right-side stitch if right stopping has been set, or at the next left-side stitch if left stopping has been set. Treadle stopped * When the needle stops in the needle up stop position, the last stitch does not form part of the seam. If the LED display q is illuminated steadily, press the SET key w so that the LED display q flashes. 2. Press the zigzag stop position key e. The indicator r will illuminate, and the zigzag stop position currently set will flash on the LED display q. • === indicates that no stopping position has been specified. • =++ indicates the left stopping position. • ++= indicates the right stopping position. 3. Press the ˚ and ˜ selection keys t to change the zigzag stop position. • Left stopping Use the left ˚ and ˜ selection keys t. • Right stopping Use the right ˚ and ˜ selection keys t. • No position specified ..... Use the middle ˚ and ˜ selection keys t. 4. Once the setting is complete, press the SET key w. The selected zigzag stop position will be accepted, and the LED display q will stop flashing and illuminate steadily. * When setting another item in addition to the zigzag stop position, you can press the SET key w after all other settings have been completed to accept all of the settings at once, instead of pressing the key at this point. Sewing machine operation when sewing stops
