Restoring Windows XP Professional This section describes how to restore the Windows XP Professional operating system. NOTE: The computer must have a CD or DVD writer installed to create the media set. Creating RestorePlus! media The RestorePlus! kit can be created using the files contained on the hard drive. To create the restore media: 1. Boot the computer. 2. During boot up, an HP Backup and Recovery Manager screen is displayed prompting you to create Recovery CDs or DVDs. Select Now. 3. An Initial Recovery Point (IRP) of the system is captured. This is a snapshot of the system hard drive. The capture can take more than 10 minutes. 4. After the IRP is created, you can create a set of backup CDs or DVDs. To create a RestorePlus! media set including the Windows XP operating system CD, select RestorePlus! > Microsoft Windows XP operating system > Supplemental media. NOTE: Depending on the options, there might be additional DVDs you can create. 5. Follow the prompts to create RestorePlus!, operating system, and HPBR media. If you are unable to create CD/DVDs on your computer, call HP Support and request a RestorePlus! media kit. Restoring Windows XP Professional
This section describes how to restore the Windows XP Professional operating system.
NOTE:
The computer must have a CD or DVD writer installed to create the media set.
Creating RestorePlus! media
The RestorePlus! kit can be created using the files contained on the hard drive. To create the restore
media:
