Solving PC Card Problems Solving PC Card Problems Problem Possible Cause Solution Computer does not beep* when PC Card is inserted, but PC Card works. Volume is muted. PC Card sound effects have been disabled. NOTE: PC Card sound effects are enabled by default in Windows 95, Windows 98, and Windows NT 4.0 with CardWare from Compaq. To increase volume, press the larger volume button. In Windows 95 or Windows 98 refer to your operating system documentation. In Windows NT 4.0 with CardWare from Compaq select StartÅProgramsÅ CardWare. Computer does not beep* when PC Card is inserted, and PC Card does not work. PC Card is upside down.
