19 Scanner Environment Settings Scan Service Overview The machine is equipped with scanning capabilities. The following scan services are available on the machine: • E-mail • Store to Folder • Scan to PC • Store to USB • Job Flow Scanning • Store & Send Link E-mail Scanned documents can be converted into electronic data and sent via e-mail. For information on e-mail environment settings, refer to "E-mail Environment Settings" (P.443). Store to Folder You can scan a document you want to retrieve as electronic data, and store it in a folder. The document can be accessed later from any computers on the network. For information on the Store to Folder service, refer to "Configuration of Store to Folder" (P.453). Scan to PC When the machine is connected to a network, you can store the scanned data on network computers using the FTP or SMB protocol. You can scan a document you want to retrieve as electronic data, and store it on a computer connected to a network. For information on the Scan to PC service, refer to "Configuration of Scan to PC" (P.455). Store to USB You can store the scanned data to a USB memory device when you insert the USB 2.0 memory device into the USB memory slot of the control panel of the machine. You can also select data stored in the USB memory device and print the data directly. For information on the Store to USB service settings, refer to "Configuration of Store to USB" (P.458). Job Flow Scanning You can scan a document with a job flow process from a computer on a network. For information on how to configure job flow scanning, refer to "Configuration of Job Flow Sheets" (P.459). Store & Send Link The machine can convert a scanned document into electronic form, store it in the hard disk, and send a URL that indicates the location of the document. Note • To use the Store & Send Link feature, you need to configure the authentication settings.
