Vonage V-Portal User Guide HINT: If you are installing behind a router that you did not specifically configure to use different IP Addresses for every device connected to the router, then your router uses DHCP. A DHCP connection is the easiest Internet connection to setup. In most cases, your Vonage device requires no additional configuration to use DHCP. It will function properly right out of the box. If you had previously set your V-Portal to use a Static IP Address or PPPoE connection to access the Internet and would like to re-configure it to use DHCP: Log in to the Web UI. From the home page click on the Basic Setup tab and then choose the Connect to the Internet sub-menu. Select DHCP from the Connect Using drop down list. The following screen will be displayed: • Enter the MTU Size** (optional). If no value is entered, the default value will be used. We recommend using the default value unless your ISP or Vonage Customer Care has asked you to change it. • Click the Apply button View the Terms of Service by visiting the Vonage website at www.vonage.com/tos. Pay particular attention to 44 Section 11 which explains limitations on Warranty, Remedy and Liability.
