Clearing Passwords and CMOS Settings Clearing Passwords CAUTION: Before you begin any of the procedures in this section, follow the safety instructions located in the Product Information Guide. 1 Follow the procedures in "Before You Begin" on page 143. 2 Remove the computer cover (see "Removing the Computer Cover" on page 145). 3 Locate the 4-pin password connector (RTCRST_PSWD) on the system board. 4 Remove the 2-pin jumper plug from pins 3 and 4 and set the jumper plug aside. 5 Replace the computer cover (see "Replacing the Computer Cover" on page 262). Follow the procedures in "Before You Begin" on page143.

Remove the computer cover (see "Removing the Computer Cover" on
page 145).

Locate the 4-pin password connector (RTCRST_PSWD) on the system
board.

Remove the 2-pin jumper plug from pins 3 and 4 and set the jumper plug
aside.
5
Replace the computer cover (see "Replacing the Computer Cover" on
page 262).
