Chapter 7 Change copy speed or quality The HP All-in-One provides three options that affect copy speed and quality: • Best produces the highest quality for all paper and eliminates the banding (striping) effect that sometimes occurs in solid areas. Best copies slower than the other quality settings. • Normal delivers high-quality output and is the recommended setting for most of your copying. Normal copies faster than Best and is the default setting. • Fast copies faster than the Normal setting. The text is comparable to the quality of the Normal setting, but the graphics might be lower quality. The Fast setting uses less ink and extends the life of your print cartridges. To change the copy quality 1. Make sure you have paper loaded in the input tray. 2. Load your original print side down on the right front corner of the glass or print side up in the document feeder tray. If you use the document feeder tray, place the pages so that the top edge of the document goes in first. 3. In the Copy area, press Quality until the appropriate quality setting is lit. 4. Press Start Copy Black or Start Copy Color. To change the copy quality from the HP Photosmart Studio (Mac) Software 1. Make sure you have paper loaded in the input tray. 2. Load your original print side down on the right front corner of the glass or print side up in the document feeder tray. If you use the document feeder tray, place the pages so that the top edge of the document goes in first. 3. Select the HP Device Manager from the Dock. The HP Device Manager window appears. 4. In the Devices pop-up menu, choose the HP All-in-One, and then double-click Make Copies. The HP Copy dialog box appears. 5. In the Copy Quality area, select Best, Normal, or Fast. See above for complete descriptions. 6. Click Black Copy or Color Copy. Change default copy settings When you change copy settings from the control panel, the settings apply only to the current copy job. To apply copy settings to all future copy jobs, you can save the settings as defaults. To set default copy settings from the control panel 1. Make any needed changes to the Copy settings. 2. In the Copy area, press Menu repeatedly until Set New Defaults appears. 3. Press until Yes appears. 76 Use the copy features

Change copy speed or quality
The HP All-in-One provides three options that affect copy speed and quality:
Best
